Boas,
Encontrei isto -> http://www.rotorbike.com/nueva/pdf/Q-Ring%20adaptation%20Phases.pdf
Segundo percebi, posição 3 é para quem prefere pedalar em cadência, e a posição 1 é para quem prefere pedalar em força.
Abraço

If you want the feeling of being on top of the gears a little more (or are a real fast spinner), try a higher regulation point (4 for road/3 for mtb). A higher regulation point also makes
acceleration and stand up climbing easier.
If you would like the feeling of more resistance and higher power capacity, you may consider a
lower regulation point (2 for road/1 for mtb). A lower regulation point generally boosts your
high speed power. Points 1 and 5 are extreme, do not try these until you have exhausted all
other options.
Abraço
